Submissions

You want to write for 65,000.

Here are some things to keep in mind:

All submissions must be original and unpublished.

Be creative! We publish any word length, any form, from any writer. Here are some formats we prefer though:

• Think pieces: Write about a meme or an internet-related topic from your perspective, outlining your own beliefs and theories on the subject (reference this piece).
• Interviews: Talk to someone. This could be an editorial profile, in which your thoughts mix together with quotes (reference this piece), or a Q&A, in which the questions and answers are strictly defined (reference this piece).
• Satire: Write a The Onion-style article about a meme or internet-related topic of your choice. Example: a mock tabloid slampiece on a micro-celeb (reference this piece).
• Listicle: A "Top 10" (or whatever number) list on an internet-related topic (reference this piece).
• Anything else: Don't like these options? Try us with something new.

There is no guarantee that your submission will be accepted.

Okay ... so how do I submit?

Send an email to owen@knowyourmeme.com with the subject line "65000 PITCH" followed by your topic. Example: "65000 PITCH: The Rizzler's secret lover"

You will get an email back within a few days telling you if your pitch was accepted.

Okay ... and what do I get in return?

We pay $50 a piece. International contributors will be given an equivalent amount in home currency.
